A Study in Black and White
A Transitional Living Room
This client came to us with a very specific parameter for this job. The task was to design window treatments that stayed within the variation of a theme: A study in black and white. Her decor was already established. She needed treatments that would support the existing decor without becoming a focal point. The configuration of the windows in the home was also tricky, as some had a top window, and others did not. She wanted the window treatment to help even this out.
We took our cue from the white marble floor with and ebony outline detail. We created treatments with white faux silk and an ebony faux silk edge banding and tieback. The drape has a tack top header and is lined and interlined. The rods are from the Select line created by United Supply Company. The treatments were all made at the same length and installed at the same height to hide the uneven window pattern. The crisp look is reminiscent of a white tuxedo with black tie detail. This client was thrilled with the result! She is a frequent traveler and told us that when she comes home, that is the first thing that she sees and it always makes her smile. Can't ask for more than that!
