Transitional Home with an Asian Flair
This client came to us wanting a Transitional space with an Asian Flair for her 1700 sq. ft. Condo. What she really wanted the most was color! Her previous home featured an austere scheme of mainly white, Lucite furniture and some colorful artwork to bring the space to life. She wanted to incorporate some pieces of her existing artwork in the new space. The violinist painting in the dining room gave me the inspiration for the color pallet. Warm gold, Ming red, and Citrus green. The project was completed over a five year period in stages.
The first stage included paint and the bottom floor furniture and accessories. Also, the powder room really needed help. The small footprint had an unusually tall ceiling. We installed a stained chair rail at the 96" height and then wallpapered below and used a grasscloth above. This lowered the feel of the ceiling and made the space more comfortable to be in. This same phase of the project included the upper floor Master Bath mirrors and lighting. Also, the custom furniture, bed, and bedding for the Master Bedroom.
The second stage swapped out the carpeting on the stairs and upper floor. This stage also included a full Master and Guest Bath renovation. We also addressed the outdoor space with deep seating, dining, and bar furniture. Bringing in the seafoam color here, complimented the Ming red used inside, but gave it a more sanctuary feel.
